Lamborghini Estoque cancelled??
March 23rd, 2009 | | RajivLamborghini Estoque concept was probably one of the most interesting concept cars at last year’s Paris Motor Show. This four-door supercar was waiting for a green light from the VW’s executive board. Now according to Maurizio Reggiani, head of research and development at Lamborghini, Estoque has been put on ice for the time being.
Reason is the overall bad market condition around the world. As Estoque was planned in very limited numbers we still believe they would not have any problems selling this four-door supercar.
Estoque was suppose to hit show rooms end of 2011 with a price tag around £150,000. Estoque concept was a four-door, four-seat front-mid engined four wheel drive supercar, that would have competed right against the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera Turbo.
At the Paris Motor Show Lamborghini said Estoque could be powered by different engines including a V10, turbocharged V8, hybrid V8 and V12 TDI. Lamborghini fans are not happy about it, but it surely is good news for Porsche and Aston Martin as there won’t be another competing model for their upcoming four-door supercars.
